
MSSNY Addresses State’s Approach to Prescribing Opioids
The Medical Society of the State of New York has expressed concerns about difficulties some chronic pain management patients have obtaining opioids, reacting to a New York Department of Health Report that found a 42% decrease in prescriptions for them between 2013 and 2022. MSSNY President Dr. Jerome Cohen says there are now “unmet needs” due to strict constraints being placed on prescribing practices.
