NYRx, the Medicaid Pharmacy Program and the NYRx Education and Outreach team has worked to compile information in the linked document, NYRx, the Medicaid Pharmacy Program Information for Medical Residents, to share with medical interns and residents to help familiarize them with the NYRx Pharmacy Program and assist when prescribing for patients who are enrolled in New York Medicaid.

Included in this information are links to the NYRx Preferred Drug List (PDL) which outlines preferred drugs in select drug classes and clinical criteria requirements as well as a streamlined NYRx Preferred Drug Quick List, which lists only the preferred drugs.

In addition, attached is guidance, OPRA Notification, that providers can share with pharmacies if they are being told their prescriptions are denying because they are not enrolled in Medicaid.  Please distribute this information to your interns and residents and don’t hesitate to contact the E&O team with any questions.
