Onondaga County Medical Society President Urges Veto on Wrongful Death Bill

Dr. Digant Nanavati, MSSNY member and president of the Onondaga County Medical Society, urges Gov. Kathy Hochul to again veto legislation that would expand awards in wrongful death lawsuits, as the bill would raise insurance costs for physicians by 40% and could discourage them from practicing in the county. It’s imperative that Hochul works “with the Legislature to develop truly balanced solutions — expanding the rights of grieving families while securing our healthcare safety net,” Nanavati writes.
